The truth is that God will not always give you a glimpse into the future so you can see how you'll overcome adversity.
I remember crying a few years ago because I was in the midst of my humpty-dumpty moment and couldn't see how God could put me back together.
My life had not only fallen apart, but my soul had been broken as well, and I had no strength in me to even believe, let alone pray for God to help me get through it.
I, like Elijah, wished for it all to end.
So I personally understand the overwhelming power that a defeated mind and a broken spirit can have on one's soul, to the point of shaking even the strongest levels of faith.
The beauty of going through such life-altering pain is that you come out knowing that
neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 38-39
Those aren't just reassuring words to recite when you're down, but a reality you've lived in.
God is present when you are broken and beyond repair, sometimes naked in front of the world, and when you allow Him to be, He is more real than the pain you are experiencing.
I say this because pain blinds you to the fact that it is only temporary and that it can be healed.
