Lesson from Peter

Updated: Dec 29, 2021

What are your convictions/ unshakeable morals? What are your convictions/ unshakeable morals?

There are some sins in our lives that are easier to let go of and not to give into, and then there are those that are our point of compromise. The sins we excuse with words such as "I'm only human after all."

However, then there are things that surprise us in life because, at some point in our lives, we believed there were lines we'd never cross no matter what.

Peter had believed that his allegiance to Christ was a certainty and could not imagine that he had denial within him. We, like him, have certain things in life which we believe we could never be capable of doing, no matter what the circumstances we are in.

However, life can put us in situations that force us to compromise and abandon everything we believe in.At times when we find ourselves in such situations, we may be inclined to imitate Judas and become so consumed with guilt or remorse that we believe we are unworthy to even ask for forgiveness and lose hope.

However, we ought not to approach our fall as though we serve a God who is without mercy or love. We should instead approach such moments through the example of David and Peter, acknowledging our shortcomings before God, falling at their feet, but with the knowledge that we serve a God of mercy and forgiveness.

Let this encourage as you figure your journey with God.
