Removing the cobwebs

Updated: Dec 30, 2021

If you've ever walked into an unused room, you might have found some dusty cobwebs.

Today I came across this corner and it had cobwebs. God started telling me that sometimes our hearts look like that wave. The reason for this is that we are no longer inspecting the state of our relationship with him, and dust begins to accumulate. What is the state of your heart today? Sticking with the cobwebs analogy, if you have ever had to clean such a room, you'd know it's discouraging and sometimes you don't know how to even start. Today I want to talk about cleaning the cobwebs of your heart and getting back to God.

1. Take a moment and switch everything else off so that you have no distractions and you can just focus on getting the job started.

2. Maybe this may be awkward if it's been awhile since you spoke to him, but just like picking up the phone to call an old friend, you don't need to know how to start a conversation, you just need to say hello and the rest will come.

3.Read the word. If you don't know where to even begin, please follow the link for suggestions.

4. Write a note to God. This will help you reflect at the moment. It doesn't have to be long, just some thoughts that may be going through your mind. Even if it's just questions, just write.

5. Play some music. You could actually use music as an ice breaker because sometimes some songs are able to say the words we are unable to.

Just continue doing those and, after a while, just like connecting with that old friend, that weird awkwardness will go away. Because daily cleaning and maintenance will keep the cobwebs away, and your bedroom won't be something you avoid, you will have a place of peace and rest once more.
