Lord, I choose you even if it means dying.
So how do you develop the kind of faith that isn't moved by storms but silences them instead?
Take up your armour: Ask yourself, "What is the enemy after?" If he has taken it all, what is he really after? Your faith?
The moment you realize this, is the moment when you pick up your shield and get up, because he can take away all the material things, but don't you dare give him your faith.
One of the temptations he uses against Jesus was the offer of giving Him the world, which he could do because the world was his to give. That's the very trick he uses to get us to bow or compromise when we lose everything the world has to offer, be it love, a house, or any other worldly possession or achievement.
He offers and taunts you with what's of the world in order to take away from you what's of the spiritual world.
I know that is hard, because sometimes in our lives we get tired of appearing as though we have lost, but when you remember that the power of the cross was found in what appeared to be a loss, a physical death, which insured eternal victory.
So get up, pick up your "faith" (shield), and don't give up on the fight, because this loss is a victory.
